The Xbox One and PS4 are going to be the biggest sellers this holiday season in the U.S. With their new features to add to the gaming community, it is no wonder that they both sold over one million units in their first day of release.
The Xbox One is $499 and includes a console, Kinect sensor,and a single controller.
The Xbox One can play games at both 720p and 1080p.
The Xbox One can also keep a steady 60 frames per second.
The Kinect sensor uses Kinect 2.0 and is able to monitor facial expressions, voice commands, and body movement. Extra controllers cost $59.99.
At the time of launch, the Xbox One has over 20 games to play and many more coming next spring. These games include exclusives such as Dead Rising 3, Forza Motorsport 5, and Ryse Son of Rome. Future titles include Titanfall, Halo 5 and Kinect Sports.
“The best part of the Xbox One is the controller. It fits in your hands easier and has an overall nicer fell than past controllers,” sophomore Tim Xia said
The PS4 is $399 and comes with just the PS4 console and a single dual shock 4 controller.
The PlayStation Eye can be purchased as an accessory for only $99. Extra controllers cost $59.99.
Similar to the Xbox One, the PS4 can play games at 720p or 1080p, and keeps a constant 60 frames per second.
The PS4 has a unique controller in that it has a touchpad, speakers and a backlight.
The PS4 also launched with just over 20 titles.
Some exclusive titles include Killzone Shadow Fall, Knack and Contrast.
PlayStation has exclusive titles coming out in the future such as Order 1866, Final Fantasy 14 and Drive Club.
