After completing their final exams on Wednesday and Thursday, June 4 and 5, many Pearce students will be going out to lunch, movies and other events on the half-days. This is a time for students to unwind after testing.
A lot of Pearce students will be going to restaurants on the nearby intersection of Coit and Campbell. These establishments include Chili’s, Qdoba, Jersey Mikes, Starbucks, Mi Cocina and many more.
“I plan to go to the Corner Bakery on Coit and Campbell with a few friends after school on Thursday,” sophomore Emma Conditt said. “I love their salads and soups because they taste fresh.”
Some students plan other activities, like going to the movies. There are a number of new movies coming out next week, such as A Million Ways to Die In the West and Maleficent.
“I plan to go to see X-Men: Days of Future Past at the Cinemark in West Plano after school on Wednesday,” sophomore Sebastian Elverskog said. “It looks really action-packed, and I plan to take advantage of the extra time we have.”
Some students have planned excursions further away from Pearce.
“I’m going to lunch at the Klyde Warren Park in downtown on Thursday,” sophomore Hannah Lindahl said. “A few friends of mine are going to get lunch from the food trucks that are down the street and eat at a picnic table.”
Other students plan to get some extra work hours on their half-days off.
“I plan on going to work at the Prestonwood Country Club after school on Wednesday and Thursday,” sophomore Cameron Weir said. “I am a lifeguard at the pool, and I could use the extra cash.”
