On Monday Oct. 27 the varsity girls golf team finished in last place in the Meadowbrook Classic golf tournament in Fort Worth. The team was represented by Jansen Rees, Molly Peterson, Kenzie Hagood, Taylor Horlick, Samantha Shoulders and Maddie Engels. Despite the low finish, some of the golfers finished with personal bests for the season.

Pacesetter Holiday Bazaar provides excellent choices for gifts that draw in customers
Every year the Pacesetters host a Holiday Bazaar to raise money for costumes, choreography and other expenses. The Bazaar has at least 200 vendors and thousands of customers each year.
GSA gets a new sponsor for the year
Teacher Tobin Knox is the new sponsor for the Gay-Straight Alliance after the previous sponsor, Sharby Hunt, couldn’t be present at meetings this year.
Environmental Club goes to White Rock Lake to help clean up
The Environmental Club drove to White Rock Lake on Nov. 8 to clean up. The 15 members who went spent two hours cleaning up and found a variety of objects.
Seniors grasp forensic science by analyzing crime scenes
Forensic Science is a popular class that many seniors at Pearce are taking this year. The class focuses on scrutinizing evidence and given information that one would use in a court of law.
Varsity basketball team practices hard in preparation for the season
The varsity basketball team started practicing for the season on Wednesday, Oct. 29. The team is now having more intense practices in hopes of having a better year than last year. Their new district includes Highland Park, Mesquite, Richardson and Berkner, who all made the playoffs last year.
AVID students connect through annual Oktoberfest
The annual fall AVID Oktoberfest provides fun activities for both high school and junior high AVID students and families. They participate in various activities throughout the evening to connect and have a good time.
UNICEF Club raises funds through ‘Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF’
The UNICEF Club collected over $1,000 in funds through the program “Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF” during the week leading up to Halloween. Over 30 of the club’s members participated in a major fundraising effort for UNICEF.
Band advances to UIL Area contest
The Mighty Mustang Band competed in the UIL Region 3 Area marching band competition where they advanced to the final rounds. The band placed 10th out of the 10 bands that made it to the final round.
Environmental Club revived to make a difference at Pearce
Juniors Carolyn Perlmutter and Sophie Kellner revive the Environmental Club and spread awareness about environmental issues. There are bi-monthly meetings and many events planned to engage students.
