The varsity soccer team has started the season with a 4-1 record. The team’s talent level and strong team chemistry have them prepared for a good run throughout the season.

Yoga club meets to relax and wind down
The Yoga Club was created by students at Pearce this year to meet and do yoga throughout the year. The sponsors are Ms. Alex Gandy and Mrs. Tara Christensen, and they lead the yoga sessions to help the students relax.
Winterguard performs preview
The Pearce Winterguard performed their preview on Jan. 29 in the big gym. The preview is a demonstration of what the Guard has been working on.
Intense week before start of musical proves worthwhile
Many students stayed after school the week prior to the showing of “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” in order to perfect this year’s theater production. This includes the actors, musicians and the crew working hard to make sure the show runs without mistakes.
Juniors prepare early for college
The juniors at Pearce have started to get ready for the college applications that they will have to complete the first semester of senior year. They take various classes to learn about college and help them prepare.
Junior studies at Mountain School of Milton Academy
Sebastian Elverskog attended a high school program studying and working at an organic farm. Only a few students are selected across the nation and they attend the Mountain School for a semester.
DECA competes in district competition, advances to state
DECA competed in a district competition in areas such as sports marketing, restaurant managements and community services. Several students advanced to the state competition which will be held Feb. 25-27.
AP Biology students hear Dr. Sam Rhine talk about cancer
AP Biology students went to a genetics lecture given by Sam Rhine on Feb. 5. Mr. Matthew Fields’ students have attended this lecture for the past seven years.
AP Ambassadors boost Pearce students’ participation in AP classes
Several Pearce students have been chosen based on character and grades to participate in the new AP Ambassadors program. The students play a critical role in increasing the participation of students in AP classes.
Wrestling through adversity
The wrestling team has gone through a lot this year. They run the miles, cut the weight, wrestle hours each day, and the seniors in wrestling have gone through five coaches.
