    For many students, attendance and absences are a big deal, especially for AP students. If AP students attain more than three excused absences, they are not exempt from their final exam. However, medical and school-related absences are excepted and do not count against the student.

    Media sites compete for the attention of teens with video-games. Every action we take is another moment of time spent, and with the increasing amount of tasks and things to do, the majority of people are left with little time to spare.

    Adolescents who do not get enough sleep are more likely to be overweight, not engage in daily physical activity, suffer from symptoms of depression, engage in unhealthy risk behaviors (drinking, smoking, and drugs), and perform poorly in school.

    Phones nowadays are used by mostly everyone and can be used freely almost everywhere, and one of the places that they can or can not be used in are some situations at school. Each teacher makes their own phone policy to control the usage of phones by their students, which helps but not always.

    After months of endless debate, the Richardson ISD community has reached a conclusion over the tax ratification measure. On November 6th, the majority voted in favor of the measure.

  • A Star is Born Remake Portrays Addiction and Mental Illness

    On Oct. 5, A Star Is Born was released in theaters. This version, starring Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper (who also directed the film) was the fifth reimagining of the now classic story.

  • LIFT team helps kids in trouble

    LIFT is a student-guided program that helps students who are experiencing social problems that interfere with their learning. LIFT means Loving Intervention For Teens. There are eight faculty members on the team. The team leader is English and AP Capstone teacher Miranda Gilliam.

  • Aquaman film redefines DC movies

    It was a slow year for the DC Extended Universe in terms of movies, but that all changed once Aquaman hit the box offices on December 21st, 2018. Aquaman made that slow year, feel a lot more worth it.
