Pearce varsity and junior varsity baseball teams practiced their baseball skills in a 100-inning marathon. This is the first marathon Pearce has hosted this year.

Varsity soccer team begins season strong
The varsity soccer team has started the season with a 4-1 record. The team’s talent level and strong team chemistry have them prepared for a good run throughout the season.
Wrestling through adversity
The wrestling team has gone through a lot this year. They run the miles, cut the weight, wrestle hours each day, and the seniors in wrestling have gone through five coaches.
Cross country runners finish with personal bests at Lynn Creek Park meet
After finishing second place in district, many runners finished with personal best times at the meet on Nov. 1 at Lynn Creek Park. Despite the strong performances, none of the runners were able to advance past the regional meet.
Senior athletes sign for volleyball and swimming
On Nov. 12, Seniors Brianne Burkert and Chanel Cooper each signed to colleges for volleyball to Florida State and Fairfield. Senior Blake Maczka also signed for swimming with Michigan.
Varsity football ends season with loss in playoffs
The varsity football team lost to Jesuit in the playoffs 59-7 on Nov. 14. The team finished the season with a 5-5 record but was able to go 4-3 in division games.
Varsity girls golf team finishes third in Meadowbrook Classic
On Monday Oct. 27 the varsity girls golf team finished in last place in the Meadowbrook Classic golf tournament in Fort Worth. The team was represented by Jansen Rees, Molly Peterson, Kenzie Hagood, Taylor Horlick, Samantha Shoulders and Maddie Engels. Despite the low finish, some of the golfers finished with personal bests for the season.
Varsity basketball team practices hard in preparation for the season
The varsity basketball team started practicing for the season on Wednesday, Oct. 29. The team is now having more intense practices in hopes of having a better year than last year. Their new district includes Highland Park, Mesquite, Richardson and Berkner, who all made the playoffs last year.
Varsity wrestling team begins full practice
The varsity wrestling began having full practice on Monday Oct. 27. Led by new coach Darren Cooley, the team is practicing with more intensity and expects to finish the season with a high ranking.
Changes in tennis program lead to improvement
Following the completion of the tennis team’s fall season, the team is working to improve for the upcoming spring season. Changes in the program such as different class periods, playing more like a team, and having a younger team have led to improvement.
